I've been feeling rather uninspired when it comes to the blog lately (as you can probably tell) so instead of some paragraphs, have a bunch of lists! Hola, amigos/gringos... Today's my last day not working on a Friday. Next week I move to a five-day workweek again (gag.) I love this four days a week thing. My sisters visited last week! They were quick to remind me that their trip must be blogged about, so that's coming soon. It was great to have them here. They taught me how to Dutch braid and I taught them about Illinois. We spent a lot of nights just hanging out, talking about nothing and everything. It was awesome. I miss them. The apartment is a lot quieter now. And less full of stuff. (They were great houseguests and packed light, but still, we were definitely pushing the limit for how many people we could fit in here.) My friends all had their babies! And they're all cute. Or in other news, I stayed up way too late last night watching SYTYCD. It's summer, people! Which means the best show on TV is back! SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE! Usually the dancers from Utah can be kind of meh but I'm actually really liking Alexia. She's little and cutesy and a contemporary dancer, but she's not afraid to do whatever's asked of her. I'm a big fan. I mean, this number is kind of creepy-crazy, but I like it.  Her and Hailee are both powerhouses. I'm calling it right now - Hailee, Alexia, Virgil, and Neptune in the top 4. I mean - look at this! I can't find the video from when the judges gave their critiques, which was the best part, but I'll keep looking.  Also, Neptune and Kate need to get married. NOW. It's funny how people are so into their anniversaries. I know coworkers that take the day off and don't even do anything. Like, what the heck? The same people do that for their birthdays too. I'm like, we're all adults here, right? Do we need to take our birthdays and anniversaries off work? Is that a thing? I'm not sure. I'd much rather be at work earning money that bumming around all day at my apartment while C rips up sod. I don't know. I'm a freak. I guess if C was home too and we went and did something fun that'd be different, maybe? It's also weird that a bunch of people knew about it. I was like um, who told you? Did I, by mistake? I usually try to keep that stuff under wraps since nobody needs to know. It's me and C's holiday, people. Not the whole world's. Heck, half my family didn't even know. Holla for secret holidays! So now that all my trip posts are done, it's back to actually writing for this thing on a regular basis. The break has been nice but a lot has happened. Here's a list! Books read: 1.5 -  The Fault in Our Stars  and I'm almost done with Where'd You Go, Bernadette? I've really been liking Bernadette , it's been intriguing and hard to put down from start to finish. Definitely recommend, especially if you like books that aren't written in the "traditional" sense. This book is kind of a scrapbook of dialogue, emails, memos, letters, etc, but Maria Semple actually pulls it off. Usually those books annoy me, but this one doesn't. I'm hooked. And I'm actually at the part of the book where we're all like yeah! Where did you go, Bernadette??? But seriously, where? We're all wondering here. Also, is this not the coolest book cover ever? Okay guys. I just finished season one of HD and I have a few thoughts that refuse to be kept in until I write an actual post. If you ever plan on watching this show SKIP. SKIP NOW TO THE ***. THERE BE SPOILERS IN THESE WATERS. 1. Okay. Zoe Hart is okay-cute, right? But is she cute enough to deserve the adoration of all the single men in Bluebell? NOOOOOOO way. 2. Show's getting a little sleazy. Might not make it all the way through this one. I could literally read all the synopses on this show and be totally fine not wasting my time on sleazy crap. 3. While the idea of a "Who gets to keep Zoe? Wade or George?" battle is intriguing, it also sounds terribly immature and not fun. 4. I thought Wade's scruff face would grow on me. It hasn't. 5. I thought Lemon would grow on me. She hasn't. Also, I finally figured out her dad's name is Brick. Brick? Might as well call the guy Dirt. Or Ficus. I mean, come on. So ever since I finished Gilmore Girls completely for the second time, I've been looking for a new show to fill my Amy Sherman-Palladino void. This week I tried... Main premise: A wannabe spoiled surgeon, Zoe Hart, is turned down for a fellowship in her hospital in NYC and is told to do a year of GP (general practice) before her mentor will consider her to be worthy of this fellowship. He also tells her that she has no bedside manner (not an exaggeration) and she needs to grow a heart. So she remembers this random guy that went to her college graduation that was like "Oh hey, if you ever want to do a year of GP down in Bluebell, Alabama, give me a call." So since she has this perfect opportunity, she goes down there and finds the practice, only to find the dude had died and he was actually her father (unexpected totally-forseen plot twist!) So now she takes over his half of the practice, while trying to get patients to like her as she ruins parades, throws terrible p...

Well here I am, sitting at work browsing the Internet while eating a PopTart. Already finished filing all the crap that got scanned yesterday, I hate that part. All the files are dusty and it gets all over me and by the time I'm done, I look like I just walked out of a dust storm or something. I mean, the purple socks... Come on.  ONLY the best song ever performed on Improvaganza. Actually, now that I think about it, this is ONE of the best songs ever performed on Improvaganza. The other one, is quite obviously... So it's Thursday, friends. Not much happens on a Thursday. Not much happens any other day of the week, either. But Thursdays are just... lame days. That's all. Updates on my life, you ask? Well, me and C tried making this pesto pasta thing yesterday and it turned out really well! Try it!  Click here to see the recipe!  We had french bread and salad and nectarines with it and it was awesome. Sometimes I can cook, but only sometimes. Last week I accidentally left a burner on and melted a spatula to the pan. But hey, it came off pretty easily. But now we need a new spatula :( I'm much more of a baker than a chef. Like for instance, I'm going to try and make cinnamon rolls this weekend! Go me! We'll see how they turn out. I hope they taste okay :S So other than my cooking exploits, what else has happened? I've burned through seasons one and two of Arrow on CW, that was a fun couple weeks. I'm now trying to get into Once Upon a Time (for the third time...) so...

Here's another Post-Marriage General Update category (PMGU, if you didn't pick up on the acronym from the title, I'm lazy and didn't want to type it all out this time.) I've heard from multiple people it's time to update again. Last time I wrote was....a couple weeks ago....Yeah. Never fear, I'm still into Duck Dynasty... ...THIS girl got to be a maid of honor... ...And also took the GRE... ...went to a Real game with THIS boy :) ...worked a few soccer games...along with her 40 hours a week...and lots of other stuff that I can't think of right now.... On the fun side of things, we had to move all of our furniture out of our living room so they could clean our carpets yesterday, and we just haven't moved them back yet, so we have all this room in our room. Pretty sure the worst part of vacation is going back to your regular life. It's fun the first day back when everyone's like "Hey I missed you!" and you're like "oh, stop it, I know, (meaningless questions about their life, my trip, blah blah blah...) It's been nice to be making money again though, I need it for school. Here's what I'm listening to while I type this: Good stuff. Not much of importance has happened lately. Ooh! Went to the dentist and got a cavity filled without being numbed up. That's right. No injections for me! Now before you start getting all "Wow Katelyn, aren't you masochistic...", it didn't hurt, it was a small cavity, my dentist said it was fine. I hate being numbed up.
