Guess What, He's Still Nameless

Image
Here's your two-week update! He's still nameless, although my little sister P says he should be called "Puffy the Girl Slayer". I'm not sure about that one. She did say we could call him "Puff G. Slay" so, there's that. He responded well to that, although even though he'll swim up to the front of the tank no matter what when I come talk to him, so I could probably call him BabyFish for the rest of his life and he wouldn't care at all. Yay. What else, you ask? I know it's been awhile. I got pretty sick this week and am just now starting to feel better. Kudos to C for keeping me and the apartment in one piece. Lots of Gilmore Girls has been consumed this week. and oh my gosh. I love that new people are being added to the cast! Minus Christopher, Dean, and April Nardini. I just... dislike all of them. Ugh. They have no place in the reboot! Go away, people! I also got really into this Netflix reality show called "Sing it On", wh...

I'm (not) Groot

Well, today is graduation day for the university I work for, so I had to make sure I got to work super early to get a parking spot, and now I'm sitting here counting down the hours until I get to leave. (.5 hours down, 4.5 hours to go...) Although once I go home, that's not a ton better either. Since C works so much going home consists of me picking something to clean, cleaning it while concurrently watching Gilmore Girls or While You Were Sleeping, completing the cleaning process, and deciding to cook something. Yesterday was a crock pot special, not sure what I'll make today. I also attempted making chocolate chip cookies and they ended up okay. I guess C liked them so that's good. I've been a bit wary of cookies ever since my famous oatmeal chocolate chips went to total crap that one time. I've been building my confidence up slowly in that regard. Haha, in other news, just saw the president of the university walking around in full academic graduation regali...

Well, today has been extremely mediocre. Went to work, came home. Thought about going shopping, didn't. Thought about cooking something, made Minute rice instead and poured some Yoshida's on it. Not the greatest meal, but better than eating nothing, especially with my picky stomach. This time last year it was some of the worst it's ever been. I'm glad it's been getting better over time. Stomachs are weird organs. You think everything is fine, and then  - BAM! Eat something too salty, sour, or spicy? Your life is about to get a whole lot worse, my friend. For me, it's tomato sauces, salsas, Thai food, Indian food, and really greasy food, like burgers and fries. I love all these things. But they just aren't good for my poor stomach sometimes. And by sometimes I mean most of the time. And by most of the time I mean all of the time. Yep, just inserted a happy turtle, for no real reason, besides that he's adorable! What else h...

Baseball & Adam Levine

So my littlest sister P is terrified, I repeat TERRIFIED of loud noises. So naturally, we decided it would be a good idea to take her to a baseball game. *sigh* Every time they hit a foul ball and it bounced off the roof above us, she would jump and put her fingers in her ears and not take them out for like five whole minutes, and by then they'd hit another foul ball. It was a vicious cycle. And then we learned that they were doing fireworks after the game, which would be awesome, but noooooo, P was having a major freak-out so we had to leave. I'm pretty sure I wasn't that particular when I was her age, but then again, what do I know? But we didn't get to see the end, which was depressing. If I'm going to a game, I'm going to the whole game. But hey, maybe P will grow out of her fear of any kind of noise someday. Fingers crossed?  Here's some cute pictures!  P pre-freakout Aren't we precious? So yes. Baseball. Woot. It was act...

Recent Work Happenings

Hey guys, what's up. Went back to work today after the weekend, good times. I had to edit a speech, and the lameo who transcribed it before me apparently thought Moses brought the "ten plaques" to Egypt instead of the ten plagues. Come on, people... More "Katelyn educates the captioners about sports" moments today - had to explain to a coworker that football players don't score in an "inzone", they score in an "end zone". *sigh* Although the way all these old announcers can talk, I can see how she would be confused. On a more positive note, the same speaker brought in this great quote by Eleanor Roosevelt. Interesting to think about, right? According to this scale, I'm more often an average mind, although I have my small and great moments. Usually when I'm in my "great mind" mode it's when me and my mom or dad or sisters are discussing problems and how to solve them, and it always ends up boiling down to the...
