HC&M: Meh-rry Potter and the Cursed Child

Image
Hey, people. My week, in a picture. Peruse below. Happy -Went to a White Sox game last Friday. That deserves a post in and of itself due to the intense nature of the game. Two words: Superhero Night. Get excited. -Me and C have already pretty much decided on our Halloween costumes (which is dumb, because we're adults, and we have nothing to dress up for, but whatever.) We'll see if we act on our ideas but at least we have an idea... We've never dressed up since we've been married. But then again, ever since my college years I've never really been into the whole dressing up deal (with the exception of junior year, where I wore a tattoo sleeve to class/work all day and painted my nails black. That was awesome. Oh, and I was a Nerd Herder sophomore year. That costume was awesome. I can't find the tie to wear it again though :( I'm just hoping that this "costume" isn't too "casual" for work. And if so TOO BAD, IT'S HAL...

Do you ever just have a day that ends and you're like "You know what? I would have been perfectly okay if this day had never happened." Yeah, had one of those last week. And as is practice among people that are adults when this happens, I'm trying to think of good things that have happened lately, as opposed to dwelling on the meh. Unfortunately, adult mode is not working well today, but we'll try our hardest. Good Thing #1: C no longer has to pay an extra underage fee for renting cars! We can rent cars at the advertised price now. Yay...! (working on the excitement level here) Good Thing #2: I remembered to grab a strawberry PopTart on my way out the door today. Good Thing #3: We have cookies and cream ice cream sitting at home for me when I get back tonight. Also a few mini cheesecakes are left from C's birthday so I'll just eat one of those and be happy. Also, raspberries, the best fruit of all. Good Thing #4: My allergies have calmed down a lot...

Weekend Reads

Well, it's been a busy weekend. Family BBQs (with people I didn't know were my family...), lots of working, reading, Nike Outlet-ing, and Memorial Day tomorrow! Woo! Thought I'd give you a rundown of what I've been reading lately. Les Mis was pretty hard, so I've been reading some fluffy filler teenage angsty stuff. Delirium  by Lauren Oliver I got this one for Christmas as well, but never got around to it until now. Like I said, fluffy teenage angst, but not too bad for a dystopian YA book. This book is all about love - the government says it's a disease, Lena says otherwise. She meets Alex, and bang! Love. So much love. Can they escape to live their happy lives together in the Wilds? Three guesses, and the first two don't count. Which leads us to... Pandemonium  by Lauren Oliver Also a Christmas gift. Second book in the trilogy started by Delirium . Since Rob is planning on reading this, I won't really say anything, but pretty good. Hav...
