HC&M: Rhapsody in Meh

Image
It's been ANOTHER week! Guess what? Nothing has really changed over here at JTAB headquarters :( But we did do some cool stuff this weekend, so I guess I can talk about that. C drinking his fancy lemon water at "The Noodle", a cute little Italian restaurant where they make the pasta from scratch. So good! Happy -We earned some money! C's been working a temp job for about a week and good news, they gave him another two weeks and a pay raise! It's not much but it's so helpful to at least be earning a little money. We also babysat for a family in the ward last weekend and they pay extremely well out here! Granted, we had to keep our eyes on four extremely energetic children, but C took three of them and played with them and I played a game with the quietest one. All about splitting responsibilities over here. I think the best part was when they performed Frozen as a play for us. It's one of those moments where you can't laugh because it'll make...

Back to Real Life

So now that all my trip posts are done, it's back to actually writing for this thing on a regular basis. The break has been nice but a lot has happened. Here's a list! Books read: 1.5 -  The Fault in Our Stars  and I'm almost done with Where'd You Go, Bernadette? I've really been liking Bernadette , it's been intriguing and hard to put down from start to finish. Definitely recommend, especially if you like books that aren't written in the "traditional" sense. This book is kind of a scrapbook of dialogue, emails, memos, letters, etc, but Maria Semple actually pulls it off. Usually those books annoy me, but this one doesn't. I'm hooked. And I'm actually at the part of the book where we're all like yeah! Where did you go, Bernadette??? But seriously, where? We're all wondering here. Also, is this not the coolest book cover ever? I don't know. It's just awesome. Thanks for the pic, GoodReads...  On the other hand,...

A Slight Vent

Ugh. It's Monday, everybody! I keep forgetting how much I hate them until they come around again. Today is no different, although it sucks even more than usual because it's FREEZING outside and my blow dryer is broken so my hair is always wet and... ugh. I just need to pony up and buy a new one, I suppose. The real reason I'm annoyed is because... I don't know how to describe it. *use your words, K...* Okay. I'm trying. I guess the main reason I'm annoyed is that people are such complainers (including myself, I'm not perfect, no way.) But my biggest annoyance are when people are like "my problem my problem my problem" on social media, but they don't understand that they brought it upon themselves. So you're poor. Big deal. Maybe if you didn't go on five million Disney trips you wouldn't be so poor. Just a thought. Ugh. It's like people complaining that they're fat and then eating an entire package of Oreos to console thems...

A Random Recipe and Gilmore Girls!

Image
So it's Thursday, friends. Not much happens on a Thursday. Not much happens any other day of the week, either. But Thursdays are just... lame days. That's all. Updates on my life, you ask? Well, me and C tried making this pesto pasta thing yesterday and it turned out really well! Try it!  Click here to see the recipe!  We had french bread and salad and nectarines with it and it was awesome. Sometimes I can cook, but only sometimes. Last week I accidentally left a burner on and melted a spatula to the pan. But hey, it came off pretty easily. But now we need a new spatula :( I'm much more of a baker than a chef. Like for instance, I'm going to try and make cinnamon rolls this weekend! Go me! We'll see how they turn out. I hope they taste okay :S So other than my cooking exploits, what else has happened? I've burned through seasons one and two of Arrow on CW, that was a fun couple weeks. I'm now trying to get into Once Upon a Time (for the third time...) so...

Post-Marriage General Update #1: Adjustments

Image
Hey everyone! I, KM, is now KMO! I mean, it's not like on my driver's license or anything, but we have a marriage license that proves it and everything! It's unreal.... When you get married, everything changes, and yet nothing changes at the same time. I just live with my best friend now, instead of with four of my good friends, and I won't lie, it gets a little lonely sometimes. C has a full-time job with a moving company so he's gone most of the day, and I'm currently looking for a job. It's hard to be alone all day. I never thought I'd miss having a job but I miss the social interactions. Oh, and a reason to wear real pants. I swear, I live in basketball shorts these days, and it doesn't help that C owns about ten pairs of them, so I never run out of them. It's reached a bad point. My mom commented the other day to C that "you have to be careful that K doesn't let herself go... I haven't seen her in real pants in a few weeks......
