New Year's Eve

Image
It's that time again! Time to write the best blog post of the whole year. You should go back and read last year's if you haven't, it was a lot of fun to write, and this one was too. Without further ado, your theme music: Or you can pick this one, also awesome: Here we go! January This year, January was mostly spent going to the first weeks of my last classes for my undergraduate, the most difficult being anatomy. I put together the puzzle from heck with my family (paint buckets. Who makes a puzzle of PAINT BUCKETS). Me and C continued to date, and even to talk marriage. Meanwhile in the singles ward, our church changed locations and since we had to stop meeting in the building with an elevator, we took one final culminating picture to stick with the bunches of others we took in that thing. February The Olympics started, and me and roommates had a good laugh about how woefully unprepared Sochi was. I continued to almost pass out in Anatomy lab, but finall

Christmas Eve Eve!

It's my favorite holiday, guys! It's coming!!! :D And in honor of that, have some of my favorite Christmas songs. Since you already heard "Sleigh Ride" last time, I won't bother you with that again. But it is awesome. Let's see... Let's start out with a more upbeat, exciting Kelly Clarkson number: Definitely a fun one. Not super Christmassy, but not bad. If you know me, you know I love Michael Buble, so this next one shouldn't be much of a surprise: Another good one to check out if you've got time? Silver Bells. Melts me every single time.  And now, for my favorite band...   You're welcome. You're freaking welcome.  Those are the only ones in my head right now. I'll post another list if I can think of more favorites.  As far as other Christmas preparations are concerned, I've wrapped most of C's Christmas, and haven't hit anyone else's yet. And can I just tell you - the lines! They&

"Holidays Rule"

Do you ever just get up and think, "I hate everyone today" and it sets the tone for the whole rest of the day! That's me today, yay! Do not cross me. Believe me, it is in your best interest. What's new besides my random angst... Got a new office chair this week, and by new I mean already been sat on for like five million years but is new to the front desk. The girl behind me got a brand-new chair, where is the justice here? Instead of getting a new one, the head honcho of the office was like "actually I want a new one, you can have my old one" and I was like, am I supposed to thank her or not? Thanks for the used chair that you've been sitting on for the past decade? I mean, it probably hasn't been a decade, but still. It's the principle of the thing. I hate sitting where I know other people have sat for a long time. It inexplicably makes me uncomfortable. What else... I've been rocking the Indie Holidays station on Pandora because hello,

Well, I thought I would blog a lot more this week. The other secretary hasn't come in all week so I've been pulling double duty... well, kind of, I still have to stay under 28 hours >:( But besides that, I thought it'd be super boring, and for the most part it has, I just have had boring things to do that take up all my time. Between students being upset about having to pay tuition (side note: did you know that if you go to college you have to pay for it? WHATTTT???) and being upset because they didn't pay said tuition and all their classes dropped, it has been such a busy week of faking "I'm so sorry that happened to you... (not)" that I haven't had a ton of blogging time. Besides that, most of my spare time has been devoted to creating a massive spreadsheet about where C is going to apply for graduate school. But I like doing that, because it gets me excited for our future, one where we don't live in a crappy apartment in a college town, but o

Another Week Over

Well, this week has been fun. And by fun I mean extremely boring and full of boringness. But I did make chocolate mint chip cookies yesterday so I can eat those all shift long and feel better about myself. Good thing they're good cookies. But at this point, I would eat anything. I didn't have time to eat anything this morning and I needed some serious Advil, and since it's not good to take Advil on an empty stomach, I bought a cheap granola bar, and boy, was that unsatisfying. Geez. If that's how my day is starting, it can't go anywhere but up. Last night it was a toss-up between me and C of whether we'd go to a women's basketball game or stay home and watch Peter Pan Live, and after he'd pulled up some program to randomly choose for us (nerdy husband alert) we stayed home for PPL. Boy, was that the most entertaining three hours of my life. Not necessarily because of the play itself (more interesting to me were the random bits in between commercials

It's December!

It's December AND it's Tuesday, home slices. What sucks about Tuesdays is that the office gets literally buckets of mail on Tuesdays. And since last week was a vacation? It's going to be like five times worse. Aaaaaaand as I was driving into work today my car wheel started making a weird noise, like the wheel well is coming off, which it is! Whee! At least the tire isn't coming off. Now that was a terrifying experience. Might as well tell it, before the massive mail bucket gets here. So me and M, our cars were like... connected somehow. When hers broke down, mine would too. It was awful. Whenever our breakdowns happened, we would go up into our apartment and blast Linkin Park until we felt better/our cars were fixed. That was the winter of alternator troubles, control arm fiascoes, and tire issues, which is what this particular anecdote is about. So one day, we're driving home from church. M's driving, I'm in the passenger seat, and L is in the backseat.
