The Trip Pt. 1

Image
Finally, the post you've all been waiting for!  THE TRIP! Part one! I survived four planes! However, I’ve been highly disappointed so far in our airports, because there are no members of the Amazing Race running around, and it’s always been my dream to see The Amazing Race in person (especially the episode where they roll cheeses...) Our first plane stop took us on a scenic sky voyage to Seattle, where we resided for approximately enough time to buy and eat a cup of oatmeal. I am highly entertained by all the tiny trucks and carts airports use to transfer things. And when I saw that the trucks that hold the food that’s going into the plane could raise themselves up (like in the below picture), I was freaking out. How cool is that? Magic! Our next sky-venture took us from lovely Seattle, where you can smell the ocean in the air, to Philadelphia, which smells like city. Want to know what city smells like? Sewer. Sewer and questionable-looking greasy food bein

HD Continued

Okay guys. I just finished season one of HD and I have a few thoughts that refuse to be kept in until I write an actual post. If you ever plan on watching this show SKIP. SKIP NOW TO THE ***. THERE BE SPOILERS IN THESE WATERS. 1. Okay. Zoe Hart is okay-cute, right? But is she cute enough to deserve the adoration of all the single men in Bluebell? NOOOOOOO way. 2. Show's getting a little sleazy. Might not make it all the way through this one. I could literally read all the synopses on this show and be totally fine not wasting my time on sleazy crap. 3. While the idea of a "Who gets to keep Zoe? Wade or George?" battle is intriguing, it also sounds terribly immature and not fun. 4. I thought Wade's scruff face would grow on me. It hasn't. 5. I thought Lemon would grow on me. She hasn't. Also, I finally figured out her dad's name is Brick. Brick? Might as well call the guy Dirt. Or Ficus. I mean, come on. This is the end of my impromptu HD post. ***

Post GG Era

So ever since I finished Gilmore Girls completely for the second time, I've been looking for a new show to fill my Amy Sherman-Palladino void. This week I tried... Main premise: A wannabe spoiled surgeon, Zoe Hart, is turned down for a fellowship in her hospital in NYC and is told to do a year of GP (general practice) before her mentor will consider her to be worthy of this fellowship. He also tells her that she has no bedside manner (not an exaggeration) and she needs to grow a heart. So she remembers this random guy that went to her college graduation that was like "Oh hey, if you ever want to do a year of GP down in Bluebell, Alabama, give me a call." So since she has this perfect opportunity, she goes down there and finds the practice, only to find the dude had died and he was actually her father (unexpected totally-forseen plot twist!) So now she takes over his half of the practice, while trying to get patients to like her as she ruins parades, throws terrible p

Thunderstorms

Image
I love thunderstorms, guys. Actually more accurate, I like rain (not so much the thunder and the lightening.) I've really been enjoying the last little bit of rain showers and storms. Me and C went to the Payson Temple open house again yesterday afternoon and the temple looked amazing against all the storm clouds. Again people, GO. I can't tell you enough. Yeah, yeah, the afore-mentioned trip post... I'm at work right now, camera-less, so all my picture are inaccessible. Not to mention my post about the trip is about eight times the size of a regular post. I need to get it edited and sounding better before I post it. It's a lot of random ramblings right now that I wrote at different airports or on planes when I was bored/terrified, and you can tell. In other news, Neon Trees' new single is fantastic. It's most definitely a break-up song, but it's still awesome and deserves a listen. My other favorite group, Maroon 5, is releasing a single on Frida

Cinco de Mayo

Image
It's Cinco de Mayo! I'm not sure exactly what it celebrates but it celebrates something Spanish, which is awesome! Always looking for a reason to say something in Spanish. Sometimes when I'm bored or feeling lackluster about something, I'll listen to my Spanish workout station on Pandora, mainly because the songs have a lot of energy and I like to see if I can figure out what they're talking about. I know, I need new hobbies. But hey, when something like this hits the radio and you can't get it out of your head, you look up the original Spanish version and figure it out. Also, girls randomly dancing with soccer balls? Seems legit. R. Learn how to do that. The end. Other songs in Spanish I enjoy are "Limbo" by Daddy Yankee (avoid the music video on this one) and Danza Kuduro by Don Omar (yeah, also avoid any music video on this one. I haven't seen it, but it looks slightly scandalous from the screenshot.) The other foreign songs I especiall

I'm (not) Groot

Well, today is graduation day for the university I work for, so I had to make sure I got to work super early to get a parking spot, and now I'm sitting here counting down the hours until I get to leave. (.5 hours down, 4.5 hours to go...) Although once I go home, that's not a ton better either. Since C works so much going home consists of me picking something to clean, cleaning it while concurrently watching Gilmore Girls or While You Were Sleeping, completing the cleaning process, and deciding to cook something. Yesterday was a crock pot special, not sure what I'll make today. I also attempted making chocolate chip cookies and they ended up okay. I guess C liked them so that's good. I've been a bit wary of cookies ever since my famous oatmeal chocolate chips went to total crap that one time. I've been building my confidence up slowly in that regard. Haha, in other news, just saw the president of the university walking around in full academic graduation regali
