Hey, extremely loyal McBrickers! Here are some things that have happened in the world since I blogged last: 1. Brad and Angelina broke up. What?! Hollywood is shaking on its hinges! (imagine a full K eye roll here.) 2. The Head and the Heart released a new album (YESSSS) 3. Harvey and Donna held hands on Suits and I'm so happy. 4. Worst Cooks in America is just getting more and more awesome with every season, I swear.  5. BYU women's soccer is on fire! (and so are the Cubs!) Here's some things we've done since I've blogged last: 1. Went to various sporting events (baseball, football, etc.) 2. Watched season 2 of Galavant (and it is spectacular, hence the Tad Cooper!) 3. Gotten completely into Fitz and the Tantrums (I know, I'm late to the party on this one.) 4. C started grad school, year two! More posts to come in the somewhat near future? -K

Hey, people. My week, in a picture. Peruse below. Happy -Went to a White Sox game last Friday. That deserves a post in and of itself due to the intense nature of the game. Two words: Superhero Night. Get excited. -Me and C have already pretty much decided on our Halloween costumes (which is dumb, because we're adults, and we have nothing to dress up for, but whatever.) We'll see if we act on our ideas but at least we have an idea... We've never dressed up since we've been married. But then again, ever since my college years I've never really been into the whole dressing up deal (with the exception of junior year, where I wore a tattoo sleeve to class/work all day and painted my nails black. That was awesome. Oh, and I was a Nerd Herder sophomore year. That costume was awesome. I can't find the tie to wear it again though :( I'm just hoping that this "costume" isn't too "casual" for work. And if so TOO BAD, IT'S HAL...

Here we go... Also, more Suits gifs for your pleasure/displeasure. Happy -The end of season 2 of Suits was a little risque but thankfully we have moved onto season 3, which we also finished recently. And I guess I could say I knew Donna was going to date someone eventually, it was still unexpected when it came... And the backlash was great. And can I just say - how awesome was that Season 4 opener?! Of course, anything could be set to "Love Me Again" and I'd say it was awesome. Although - Why is Harvey still with dang Scottie? I know I said I'd blog every day, but the fact is there wasn't much to blog about.  I go to work. I go home from work. We make dinner. We eat it. C studies. We watch Suits. The end. Happy Saturday, people! Usually I feel like the weeks just crawl along. And this one has, for sure. But I think it's crawled a little faster than usual. Yay! Everyone be proud of us. We also tried to be social last week, we really did. A couple invited us over to make potstickers with them, and it was on Friday night, which is hard for us (C's got L&F meetings until later) but we were like you know what, we'll make it work. So C got off his train on a different stop that was closer to the house the party was in, and so I had to find it. My GPS said I'd gotten there, only I was staring at a car wash and a row of crappy apartment buildings, with a train station nowhere in sight. So I got to do my favorite thing, which is driving around trying to find something. I hate driving in Chicago. It's crap. This was a busy week! And yet, I still feel like I have nothing to say. Happy - I started my job! This job should freaking get its own edition of HC&M. Maybe next week. Suffice it to say I have income now, which means... - We can FINALLY get an apartment! Yay!!! The day we have been waiting for!!! Unfortunately, we didn't find any we liked when we went looking last week. We're giving it another go with Ash, our real estate agent. Turns out Chicago is nothing like Provo. And for all of you who responded to that comment with an overwhelming "DUH", in this instance I'm talking about when finding an apartment. At home, you jump on KSL or you ask around and somebody always knows somebody. Here? A real estate agent is your best bet. He get access to properties that aren't on popular sites like Zillow or HotPads, and best of all, he's payed by the complexes, not by you. Well friends, another week has come and gone... let's get right to it. Happy - I got the job! I guess my references were good enough, or that they least remembered who I was! We're going to have income again! I mean, we've had some lately due to C's temp job which has been amazing, but to have a steady, dependable income? Words cannot describe. That means we can FINALLY GET OUT OF THIS PLACE!!! Yessssss!!! I am now the administrative assistant for two deans in the Health and Science department at a local community college. Hopefully I'm good at it and people like me. I generally can find at least one person at a job that I like, even if the work sucks, so I'm hoping that stays true here. - I tried some pumpkin-flavored Greek yogurt and it was awesome. - CBMR update: Guess who's getting PUBLISHED! Guys. This is my 125th post. I have typed 125 posts over the course of five years! 125 times I've put my random thoughts down on virtual paper and sent it out for the world to read. Pretty intimidating thought. Maybe by the end of this year I'll hit 150, that would be exciting. High five! Well, day 2 on the lonely planet, aka a university on Spring Break. Although upon further research, turns out I do get a Spring Break! Of one day! But hey, it's a break nonetheless! And to be completely honest, I kind of wish I didn't have it. I'd rather have the cash than a day off. I mean, what am I going to do? C has school all day, guess I'll crochet a freaking blanket or something. I already made cinnamon rolls this month. Maybe I'll try my hand at archery or something. Got to get some new hobbies. Do you ever just get up and think, "I hate everyone today" and it sets the tone for the whole rest of the day! That's me today, yay! Do not cross me. Believe me, it is in your best interest. What's new besides my random angst... Got a new office chair this week, and by new I mean already been sat on for like five million years but is new to the front desk. The girl behind me got a brand-new chair, where is the justice here? Well, I thought I would blog a lot more this week. The other secretary hasn't come in all week so I've been pulling double duty... well, kind of, I still have to stay under 28 hours >:( But besides that, I thought it'd be super boring, and for the most part it has, I just have had boring things to do that take up all my time. Between students being upset about having to pay tuition (side note: did you know that if you go to college you have to pay for it? WHATTTT???) and being upset because they didn't pay said tuition and all their classes dropped, it has been such a busy week of faking "I'm so sorry that happened to you... (not)" that I haven't had a ton of blogging time. Besides that, most of my spare time has been devoted to creating a massive spreadsheet about where C is going to apply for graduate school. But I like doing that, because it gets me excited for our future, one where we don't live in a crappy apartment in a college town, but o...

Well, this week has been fun. And by fun I mean extremely boring and full of boringness. But I did make chocolate mint chip cookies yesterday so I can eat those all shift long and feel better about myself. Good thing they're good cookies. But at this point, I would eat anything. I didn't have time to eat anything this morning and I needed some serious Advil, and since it's not good to take Advil on an empty stomach, I bought a cheap granola bar, and boy, was that unsatisfying. Geez. If that's how my day is starting, it can't go anywhere but up. Last night it was a toss-up between me and C of whether we'd go to a women's basketball game or stay home and watch Peter Pan Live, and after he'd pulled up some program to randomly choose for us (nerdy husband alert) we stayed home for PPL. Boy, was that the most entertaining three hours of my life. Not necessarily because of the play itself (more interesting to me were the random bits in between commercials...

One year older (and wiser too?) Who knows. According to the eye doctor (Mom bought me new contacts for my birthday!!!) I look 18, so that's cool. I actually don't mind looking young, it throws people off and makes me laugh. So yeah, new contacts! I love them! Being able to see is great, people. And one more year and I'm eligible for LASIK, which has been my dream ever since I first got glasses. Other stuff going on...Mockingjay was actually really good and really intense. If you've read the book, you know some... unexpected things happen and it gets intense fast. Plus, we snuck in cookies and cream popcorn to the theatre, best choice ever. Well friends, I'm back in town again, woot. Took a weekend trip down to St. George with C to see another band competition but it's over now. No more band competitions for me! And while I was more prepared this time with a heavier jacket, it was still way colder than you'd expect St. George to be. Also, C got me a hot chocolate so that made it better. (Haha. See, C? Guess who's on fall break? Not me, that's who! Although I'm quite enjoying the silence of the student-deprived hallway outside, that's for sure. The few of us here are listening to music, shredding things we never have time/need to shred, or just sitting eating Goldfish and blogging (yours truly!) There is literally nothing to do. I'm to the point where I'm debating whether or not it would be worth it to alphabetize the mail. It's that bad. Although, we did get a Lego catalog in the mail today. Man. So I work in an office now, which is great because it's usually pretty quiet and boring. Especially right now, because everyone else is in staff meeting and somebody has to be left behind to "answer the phones". Funny story, the only person that has called today was looking to make an appointment with their dentist. Here's the deal, people. I work in a business office. We have nothing to do with dentistry.
